Some hosting companies don't like losing customers. So much so they only allow automatic renewal of products and make cancellation more difficult than it should be.

The only solution is to trade with a company that respects the integrity of it's clientele by allowing either manual or automatic renewal of products.

By being able to control the need to chose a method of renewal, you also influence other factors (for example, see CREDIT CARDS and LOCKED OUT).

If you are only given the option of automatic renewal, then you may find that any attempt to cancel products with your hosting company may not be so easy.

Perhaps you have to send a written cancellation by post, or perhaps track down another website (or sub-domain) and fill in various forms before you can cancel.

And what happens if you do not do this in time?

Does your hosting company insist on a period of time to cancel products? Is it slow to cancel your products or claims to lose paperwork sent by post (or fax)?

Wouldn't it be better to be in FULL control of YOUR products and not be at the mercy of your hosting company?
